Question by E.D.: Should I Buy A Digital Camera (Sony), Or A Pocket Camcorder(Kodak)?
Which Should I Buy?

Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera

OR

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W290

I do have a digital camera, but it’s on its way out. I doubt that I’ll keep it for another 12 months. So I’m considering replacing it now. But I’m also interested in the Kodak Camcorder. But I will not be uploading anything to be viewed online. All for personal usage.

Recommendation/Comparison on Digital p&s Cameras: Sony DSC-H20 vs Panasonic DMC-ZS1 and DMC-ZS3 – Which to get?

Question by TB: Recommendation/Comparison on Digital p&s Cameras: Sony DSC-H20 vs Panasonic DMC-ZS1 and DMC-ZS3 – Which to get?
Through some research, I am considering buying one of these 3 cameras, and was hoping someone would have some recommendations on which might be right for my situation.
Sony DSC-H20 vs
Panasonic DMC-ZS1 vs
Panasonic DMC-ZS3

I’m looking at getting a new Point-and-Shoot pocket sized digital camera. This is to replace a 5 year old 3MP 3x zoom Nikon Coolpix 3200 now.
I don’t want to lug around a big SLR.

The main problem I have with the 3200, is that if I take pictures in gym’s or auditoriums, they are either black, or yellowed, or blurry, not enough zoom to get me in full body at 50-75 feet, and it red-eyes alot.
Plus it is starting to freeze up occasionally.

My kids are starting to do inside winter sports, and perform in concerts, and recitals, etc. Plus the Holidays, birthdays, and those types of indoor pictures.
Essentially a family centric swiss army knife type camera. I’m not looking to Print out 8×10’s.

I do take some basic movies with my existing camera, if I happen to have the camera – pool, beach, ad-hoc. I don’t use it as my primary video. Just if I happen to have the camera on me.
So video is not a primary concern.
For the longer concerts, recitals, and event type stuff, I will bring the big camcorder.

If you have a better recommendation, I’d be all for those also.

I’d like to spend around or less than 0.

Thanks
